Summary: Member of an associate team with the responsibility for providing planning, technical direction and supplier support associated with the manufacture, rework and
repair
of gas turbine engine components and assemblies.
Essential Job Duties &
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise that assists in meeting HAI cost, delivery goals and contractual requirements for manufactured parts.
Lead in the development of programs and methods that optimize production process of a part and result in reducing the part manufacturing cycle time/cost and improving the overall quality of the part.
Lead in activities such as capability studies, should-cost studies, suppler quotation analysis, and supplier selection.
Review of supplier manufacturing methods and processes to assist suppliers in the resolution of production and delivery problems and in the development of repair procedures.
Assure supplier adherence to HAI quality control systems and plans.
Participate in negotiations by supplying data such as trade-off studies and other input used in the generation of cost and price analysis.
Develop and apply standardized design criteria for rotating and static gas turbine engine components.
Establish part cost estimates and aid in the establishment of manufacturing process plans based on design concepts.
Provide manufacturing expertise in support of HAI part suppliers, design engineering, quality, purchasing, and source selection to assure the delivery of quality gas turbine engine components.
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of seven (7) years manufacturing or repair experience in gas turbine engine parts and assemblies or equivalent work experience with a focus on manufacturing plans and process development.
Experience with fabrication, tooling, machining, CNC operation (mills, lathes, etc.)
Experience with lean manufacturing initiatives such as TQM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma is highly desired.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of gas turbine engine components, manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality methods, procedures, systems and requirements.
Familiarity with and the use of CAD and manufacturing software.
Knowledge of production cost and measurements.
