in Burlington, NC is in search of an Assistant Manager over manufacturing engineering, who will be responsible for activities associated with leading and supporting planning, technical direction, supplier support, operation improvements, and operator support associated with the manufacturing, rework, and repair of gas turbine engine components and assemblies.
Support new hardware and process development to ensure sufficient maturation and past problem prevention.
Develop and lead associates toward growth and accountability.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Assistant Manager for manufacturing engineering staff.
Responsible for meeting delivery goals, create operational improvements, meet cost reduction goals, and keep the team organized for all activities on a daily basis.
Lead and support manufacturing engineering on supplied and manufactured parts, for design requirements, manufacturing process, and finished parts.
Lead and develop solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation related to equipment/process Safety, Quality, and Delivery issues.
Track manufacturing discrepancy performance and provide input on process improvements, create counter measures, controls and work instructions.
Qualifications Education, Experience, Knowledge & Specific Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, etc.
) or equivalent experience in the manufacturing field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing quality role with some quality or inspection experience Prior leadership or development/ mentoring experience Computer skills Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Other Job-Specific Skills:
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Experience with lean manufacturing initiatives such as TQM, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
Ability to interpret drawings and able to understand refer to and interpret Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Climate-controlled office environment.
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shield, hearing protection and safety shoes.
Ability to handle parts weighing up to 30 lbs.
