Job SummaryThe Regional Production Specialist is responsible for the management and coordination of a plant's manufacturing operations or multiple department operations consistent with cost, profit, quality, and productivity objectives.
Works under general direction of the VP of Operations; exercises discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis; and high degree of creativity is expected.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities Develops production schedules for area of responsibility, coordinates activity with other areas and forecasts inventory requirements.
Monitors department output to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required.
Fomulates long and short-range business plans and goals.
Ensures that all plant assets in area of responsibility are properly managed and safeguarded.
Ensures that employees are properly trained.
Supervises activities directly or through production managers, supervisors and lead operators.
Coaches and develops subordinates, evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as required.
Establishes work center/operation quality and efficiency standards.
Monitors performance to established efficiency and quality standards and initiates corrective action as required.
Ensures that yard conditions and housekeeping conforms to Company standards in area of responsibility.
Analyzes production operations and workflow and develops improvement rommendations.
Monitors output, cuts/yields and scrap to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required within area of responsibility.
Prepares various rports as required.
Performs other duties as required.
QualificationsPreferred bachelor degree in relating discipline or equivalentMinimum 15 Years of Experience in Wall Panel, Roof & Floor Truss Production at UFPWorking knowledge of Industrial wood working equipment (rip saws, trim saws, moulders, and panel saws, etc)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred experience and knowledge on UFP's organization, culture, and product linesThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
